Meishan is the hometown of a famous poet Su Dongpo and the company Qianhe. The logo of  Qianhe comes from the calligraphy collection of Su Dongpo. Su Dongpo’s vast poetry, calligraphy, painting and recipes, either fresh and bold, or plain and simple, all contain a vast ocean of human rightousness, true and sincere artistic beauty and the pursuit of ecological food, which are worn for thousands of years but not ancient. It is undoubtedly the inberitance of Dongpo’s verve to make “Qianhe”, which gathers the spirit of heaven and earth, as a reassuring food and makes a better taste.
It is said that during the Northern Song Dynasty, Su Dongpo once went to Yongxiu, Jiangxi Province, and cured a farmer’s child. The farmer thanked him for leaving him to have dinner with them. Su Dongpo was intoxicated by the endless beauty of the countryside. The farmer’s enthusiasm warmed his heart. He couldn’t help but sing a poem: “grass and pearls are fragrant to his heart.” The farmer, who was cooking in the kitchen, thought that Su Dongpo was teaching him how to cook the meat--”make it fragrant with the grass”, so he quickly picked up the pork and the straw for the meat and put them into the pot to cook. Unexpectedly, the meat cooked in this way, dipped in a little soy sauce, has a unique flavor! It spreaded quickly. Everyone learned how to make the meat with the straw and dip it into the soy sauce, which is really delicious. Villagers call this kind of meat”Dongpo meat”. Su Dongpo is known as a delicacy. He not only made it repeatedly, but also popularized it to his relatives and friends. As a result, Dongpo meat was passed down because of its delicious taste and unique practices.
The beauty of the crisscross countryside and the natural fragrance of grass made a great achievement in Su Dongpo’s occasional praise,a kind of delicious food “Dongpo meat”was created, which is a natural wisdom and good fortune of Chinese people.
The word “Qianhe” comes from the poem of endless beautiful sceneries and fragrant grass pearls.
